Full-stack engineer and technical lead with eleven years building a multi-tenant advertising reporting platform in React, TypeScript, Rails, Elixir, and Node, and I'm now building an ML-backed bidding and fraud detection platform on my own.
Looking for a senior or lead full-stack role where I own features from data model to UI, work with product, design, and ML engineers, and help shape architecture and mentor others.
My ideal company is a product-focused team applying AI and machine learning to real business problems, with a culture of ownership, curiosity, and thoughtful engineering.

In their words
How would you describe your ideal next role?
Looking for a senior or lead full-stack engineering role where I own features end to end, from data model and API design through the front end, on a product that's moving into applied AI and ML. Would like to work closely with product managers, designers, and data or ML engineers on a small, cross-functional team, turning model output and complex data into features people actually use.
My responsibilities would include building and shipping across the stack, shaping architecture decisions, setting code review and testing standards, and mentoring other engineers.
Open to fully remote or hybrid roles in the Twin Cities.
How would you describe your professional background?
Started my career in manufacturing test systems and consulting work in Minnesota, then took on architecture and leadership roles, including software architect at Healthland, team lead on Imation's consumer backup product, and VP of Software Engineering at Composit Group, a small startup.
In 2015 I joined ReachLocal and stayed eleven years through the Gannett acquisition, helping consolidate acquired products into one multi-tenant advertising platform and working across three successive backends in Rails, Elixir/Phoenix, and Node.
That time taught me to keep learning new stacks while staying close to the product, and it's why I'm now building an ML-backed bidding and fraud detection platform on my own as I move toward applied AI.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
My ideal next employer is a product-focused company, somewhere between a growth-stage startup and a mid-sized organization, where engineers work close to customers and a single team can take a feature from idea to production.
Would like a culture that values ownership, clear written communication, and thoughtful code review, one that treats experience and mentoring as assets and gives engineers room to learn new tools as the work changes.
Most drawn to companies applying AI and machine learning to real business problems, though I'm open across industries such as ad tech, fintech, commerce, and education technology where data and integrations are central to the product. Remote-friendly or hybrid in the Twin Cities would be ideal.
