How would you describe your ideal next role?
The role I'm targeting is Director of Project Management / PMO Leader at a manufacturing or medical device/pharma company building out or maturing its project management function. I would be working on establishing and running the PMO — standardizing project methodology, governance, and reporting across the organization, while directly overseeing complex, cross-functional programs from concept through launch, similar to the capital and product development initiatives I've led at in past roles. I would be working closely with senior leadership, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, translating strategic priorities into structured, well-governed programs. Responsibilities would include building and leading a team of project/program managers, setting PMO standards and tools, managing portfolio-level prioritization and resourcing, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery across the project portfolio.
How would you describe your professional background?
I started as a Manufacturing Engineer in industrial manufacturing, building hands-on experience in precision machining and process improvement, then moved into pharma/medical device manufacturing as a Design Engineer and Quality Engineer, and later into medical device consulting, where I supported product development and design for manufacturing. From there I moved into program and project leadership at a global industrial OEM and a pharma/biomedical contract manufacturer, progressing from Project Manager into Senior Manager of Project Management and Principal Program Manager, leading cross-functional teams on multi-million dollar capital and product programs. Alongside that, I started my own business in 2023, running every function myself, a hands-on complement to two decades of formal program leadership. That progression, from engineering execution into quality into program and portfolio leadership, is what's now pulling me toward a Director of PMO role, where I can build and lead the function rather than just operate within it.

My ideal next employer is a small-to-mid manufacturing or medical device/pharma company that's investing in maturing its project management capability — whether that's formalizing a PMO for the first time or scaling one to support growth. I'm drawn to organizations with a collaborative, cross-functional culture where the PMO is seen as a strategic partner to the business rather than a reporting layer, and where leadership values structure and process discipline without becoming bureaucratic. Industry-wise, medical device, pharma/biomedical, or industrial manufacturing are the strongest fits given my background, particularly companies running complex capital projects or new product development portfolios.
