How would you describe your ideal next role?
I'm looking for an engineering role where I can use my experience to make everyone around me happier and more effective. I like big technical challenges and building software for the long run, not just the next deadline. My ideal role lives at the confluence of engineering culture, tooling, and business decision-making that determines whether a software product thrives or struggles. My super-power is dedication to radical simplicity when at all possible.
How would you describe your professional background?
I worked sideways into web development while finishing my education, realized it was the perfect place for me, and have never wanted to do anything else. I've worked at a series of small companies (think late-stage startup) and did a long stint freelancing. I'm currently in a staff engineer role and am looking to continue that sort of work: IC role but with a big impact.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
Big enough to have complex, interesting engineering challenges. Small enough to still be high-autonomy and with the room for individuals to meaningfully impact the business. Low-ego engineers and strong remote work culture. You never "pivoted to AI".
