In their words
How would you describe your ideal next role?
My ideal next role would be a remote, hands-on senior software engineering position where I can work closely with a great team of engineers to build and improve meaningful products. I'd like to take ownership of backend systems and technical problems while continuing to grow both as an engineer and as a teammate.
How would you describe your professional background?
I’m a self-taught software engineer who decided during COVID to learn how to code and turn it into a career. After landing my first engineering role, I spent the next 4½ years growing into a backend-focused engineer, taking ownership of systems, APIs, integrations, and technical projects from design through production. I’ve especially enjoyed being trusted to own problems end-to-end and finding ways to make the systems I work on more reliable, scalable, and maintainable.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
My ideal employer would be a remote-friendly technology company with a strong engineering culture and a team size where I can have a meaningful impact. I’d like to work with smart, collaborative engineers who enjoy teaching and learning from each other, with a culture that values ownership, good engineering practices, and continuous improvement.
Anything else to add?
I’m currently working on a side project, a travel app that lets users check a planned trip and get an AI-generated summary of the route, weather, and road conditions. I’ve been building it end-to-end, including the backend, APIs, integrations, and mobile app.
