How would you describe your ideal next role?
My ideal role would be an SDET or Senior SDET position on a team that values collaboration and shipping quality work. I enjoy teams that are supportive, enthusiastic and want to work together to solve problems. Even though engineering is typically heads down work, I also value cross collaboration with other teams and clients.
I'd prefer a remote position, but I'd also be excited about a hybrid role, especially if it's located in downtown Minneapolis.
How would you describe your professional background?
I've always wanted to work in tech, but I wasn't sure exactly what direction to take. After completing a programming bootcamp, I was focused on frontend roles until one of my instructors suggested I apply for an SDET position. That ended up being the perfect way to get my foot in the door, and I'm really glad it happened because my QA background has made me a much stronger developer. From there, I eventually made my way into frontend engineering while keeping that quality-first mindset.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
I'm drawn to mid-sized companies that are growing but still small enough that you can make an impact. I like collaborative, supportive, diverse and inclusive cultures where people share ideas openly and there's flexibility in how and where you work. I typically look for companies where there's an opportunity to wear multiple hats or explore different roles over time.
Even though most of my experience is in health tech, I'd love to try a different industry next. I am, however open; I care more about the people, culture, and mission than the industry itself.
