In their words
How would you describe your ideal next role?
I would love to have a mix of product and engineering work. I enjoy working with clients and getting direct feedback from my stakeholders while also being able to contribute to some of the building of features themselves.
How would you describe your professional background?
I love helping and taking care of people. This originally led me to pursue a healthcare profession and I worked as a medical scribe for a few years while studying to get into PA school before time ran short on my growing family needing a larger income to thrive. I went through a coding bootcamp and soon began working at a small healthcare company that focused on propagating preventative healthcare information and support. Layoffs forced me to look elsewhere and I joined Target, a company that tries hard to support the communities it is a part of. Being part of such a large company however, separates me too much from the people I am working to help and support and so I'm looking for a role that reunites me with the users of the tools I create.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
I'd like to join a mid-size non-profit that is seeking to improve quality of life of the people in our community. Whether it is healthcare, tech support for local business, or providing open source software to help companies grow, I don't mind so much what I'm doing as opposed to who I'm doing it for. I would like a company culture that values honesty and integrity and provides recognition to team members who exemplify those values.
