How would you describe your ideal next role?
Because of my background as a chemist, I would love to be a junior software engineer at a company that involves chemistry - either in industry or in education. As a junior software engineer, I would write code, create PRs, review PRs, and learn from mentors on best practices in the industry.
How would you describe your professional background?
Previously, I was a research chemist and also worked as a chemistry instructor, before I started working at an edTech company called Aktiv Learning, which was acquired by Top Hat. At Top Hat, I improved my coding skills both at work and through a part-time bootcamp with Hackbright. I currently am a Content Architect, working at the intersection between the content and engineering departments.
How would you describe your ideal next employer?
My ideal employer would be either in the chemical industry space or an edTech company. I would love to write software for chemical instrumentation, chemical drawing, or other internal or external uses for chemical companies. For edTech, because I know both pedagogy and chemistry, I would love to work on coding chemistry- or science-related questions or other edTech software for students studying STEM.
